Richard Hoberman
Founder / Director

I am the founder and director of Passacaglia. I am responsible for our vision, strategy, and standards.
My background is technical. I have been developing software since I was a child, and later earned a degree in Computer Science. I have worked with startups throughout my career and have a broad range of experience with most aspects of software development. I have a strong design sensibility, a commercial mindset and extensive development experience. I am in my element bringing together developers, designers and product owners to rapidly evolve first-rate software.
I'm interested in just about everything. I've also picked up a degree in Psychology and a diploma in Law. Like you I have lots of ideas and I founded Passacaglia in 2014 to build a life around making ideas happen, both mine and yours. I love meeting people, talking through ideas and being exposed to the different things people get up to. Talk to me!

Gareth Priede
Head of Technology

Gareth provides Passacaglia with technical leadership and hands-on firepower. He is responsible for development capacity, architectural direction, technology selection, and day-to-day operations.
Gareth has a strong philosophical commitment to decency and champions reality-based processes that both work with the grain of the human spirit and accepts the inevitability of mistakes by building in mechanisms to manage these.
Gareth is a founding director of ImpTime Limited, which produces management software that incorporates this philosophy and which is part of our DNA.

Nic Louw
Head of Visual Design
and Branding

Nic is responsible for visual design and branding. He oversees product aesthetics and is instrumental in optimising our visual design process. He has an exceptional eye for colour and a flair for conceptual innovation.
A veteran in digital design and advertising, Nic’s experience covers a range of disciplines from interface and user experience design to branding and marketing. He has worked in a number of regions internationally including Europe, the Middle East and Africa with experience in industries including automotive, luxury goods, travel, recruitment, retail and gaming.
He has an Honours degree in Fine Art.

Mia Louw
Head of Project Orchestration

Mia heads our team of project orchestrators, with ultimate responsibility for ensuring that teams are focused, energised and co-ordinated.
Under Mia’s guidance, our orchestrators translate specifications and decisions into concrete execution plans and ensure they are followed through meticulously. Mia’s ability to coordinate teams, her attention-to-detail and rock-solid reliability are critical to our ability to consistently deliver high-quality solutions.


Martin Keary
Head of UX / UI

Martin is responsible for user experience and user interface design. He is a UX/UI designer with experience working on software that’s used by millions of people. He has worked on high profile projects for Microsoft, PlayStation and Ubuntu. He is also an active composer with national and international awards in classical composition and explores visual aesthetics and design-oriented disciplines on his YouTube channel, Tantacrul.

Liane Posthumus
Operations Officer

Liane is responsible for implementing the vision and structuring operations. Liane honed her ERP implementation skills during a decade at Media24 and has an extensive background in business requirement definition, business process design, organisational change management and training.
Her strengths lie in the communication space, where she is able to identify, clarify and communicate issues that stand in the way of productivity. Her experience in both the Business and IT space equips her with the language to translate issues, and the people-skills to effect understanding.
Her critical analytical skills were honed studying classics. She has degree in classical languages and a masters in Ancient Cultures.
Liane also draws our comics and is a key researcher at the FistBump Institute.
